Why he has 0 military experience. Just another dipshit talking out his ass. The shrinkage he's talking about is what congress did. It had nothing to do with not enough people but a downsizing enacting by congress.

My problem with you promoting this and insulting my fellow Marine and those like him is that whether you realize it or not, you personally are making an effort to be responsible for increased deaths and injuries of people we have fighting around the world right now.

"How in the world am I doing that" you may ask. You are encouraging people not to join the military and you are in favor of demoralizing those who are currently in. You are encouraging terrorists who will conclude by your actions in wanting to exploit maimed soldiers that their strategy is succeeding, thereby giving them encouragement, aid and comfort.

Rollins is saying to the troops who are in the fight right now, he's saying FUCK THEM. Listen to what Rollins said here:

I think we should start flashing photos of maimed soldiers on the front page of every newspaper until the entire world vomits and gets sick and says "wow, it's 2008, let's just stop this shit, get into the streets and put on the p-funk and start partying. 'Cause it's, it's really time to choose something different.
So let's exploit our wounded to remove public support for the troops and demoralize the troops themselves, and make civilians not want to serve their country in the military. Yeah that sounds like a great plan. Fuck Henry Rollins and anyone else who would do that. He should never be allowed to go to Walter Reed again after the way he spoke about that veteran he visited. I am all for changing policy on how we go to war, but if you want to do that, you need to leave the troops the hell out of it. They are volunteers, and they know what they are volunteering for.

I bet if Rollins asked 100 wounded vets whether this strategy is a worthwhile idea, 99 of them would tell him to fuck off.

Thanks for telling us in no uncertain terms what your position is on the troops and our military.

Rule of thumb: Actors and musicians (I know....a HUGE stretch of the word when talking about Henry Rollins) are not the best people to get your political views from. Anyone who listens to the views of the lead singer from Black Flag will only end up dumber for it.

Poets and performance artists get some latitude.

The reality of recruitment is that sometimes it's a sales job.

Couldnt agree more. Actors and musicians should not be involved at all in politics imo. To me it's more to serve their own vanity and narcissism to make it appear that they are doing something worthwhile in the hopes that everyone will ignore the fact they just got paid millions to play make believe. As for Henry Rollins...hes afraid of Iron Maiden fans.....that makes him a pussy to start with.

I wouldn't consider his view to be political in nature. He's simply saying that military recruiting is akin to lying.

I agree with that. I also find Black Flag a poor excuse for a band.

No doubt it's a sales job but that doesn't acquit the recruiters from having integrity.

Poets I think are the one exception as far as performing arts and politics mixing. Maybe its because they have that way of completely denouncing something, but making it sound so eloquent you dont care.
