Re: Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
Sure I did. But you're too negative.
There were voices of reason even on that afternoon - and I have no reason to believe that you weren't one of them. Don't think you're all alone. There's lots of people who think the Patriot Act was ill-advised, and more who have come around since then.
I think we're already the majority.

Re: Welcome to our Post-Constitutional America.
:-) Man I have always felt this way. I'm just an optimist about the Republican Party is all. I still have hope that their stuff will get fixed and that we don't need to abandon our political process to effect real change. People like Ted Cruz and Rand Paul give me that hope. If people like that disappear, I'll be very worried indeed.
Don't those guys give you any hope at all?

I think we all know where I stand on most matters, and I say not just no, but hell no they don't give me any hope. Why would I have hope in the Republican party when a Republican president and congress blessed us with things like the TSA, DHS, the patriot act, and God only knows how many other piles of horse shit they smeared all over the constitution. The vast majority of politicians only care about three things, getting elected, staying elected, and expanding the government so they can get more of their friends elected. Are there the VERY few in the minority that feel differently? Of course, but they are so few and far between even if they do get elected their opinions will be drowned out by the rest of the herd.

I like Rand and his father but nobody listens to them and they get virtually no media attention. I have no hope for this system because at it's core it is corrupt and easily manipulated. And that's why the corporate greed out ways the public good these days.
