U2 sucks.

They should still be incarcerated for Zooropa. What a horrible pos. They haven't done shit since the Joshua Tree album. Wether he's right or wrong, we need more Rock from Rock Stars, and less politics. I'm shitting sunshine that Bonor likes capitalism. I like decent music. He should try to make some (like he did 27 years ago), and stfu.

1. Completely agree on Zooropa. Pop sucked too. But those are the only two questionable albums they have made, everything else they have done is great; since Joshua Tree there was also "All That You Can't Leave Behind","How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb", and "No Line on the Horizon", which were all great albums. And U2 is still one of the best live acts ever; my favorite band.

2. Agree with you in principle about famous people being political, but in this case, Bono has done a LOT of charity work and organizing, starting with Band Aid in the 80's. He has done more for Africa relief and fighting AIDS than just about anyone. So when he says this sort of thing, it's certainly meaningful stuff.

I mostly agree with you Dex but art and artist have a long history of political activism.

And drug use, lack of education, and rabid narcisissm. I could give two shits what any actor, painter, poet, or musician has to say about politics. Stick to the art. We get enough propaganda.
