The same thing is accomplished that every retail store in the country hope to accomplish by telling their employees to say hi or ask if someone needs help. You let them know they have been noticed. 9 times out of 10 thats all thats needed to stop an unlawful act.

I do not know my neighbors that well, or their names, but I know what they look like. I am also talking about the neighbors who live multiple houses down. I know who belongs, and who doesn't.

Hell, the first day we moved in, we had multiple neighbors come knock on our doors and introduce themselves... then again, I do live in a town of 6,000.

Shit ive lived in towns from 150 to millions and i always know what my neighbors look like. I even know which ones i like and which one i dont. You have to pretty unobservant to not know what the people around you look like.

No they don't. I honestly could tell of you 5 people that live on my street. The last place I lived, I knew 0. If you are in that kind of place then so be it, but I've not once had a neighbor come to my house outside of family.

And like I said you are one side of the ideal. I know a lot of people that would shoot first ask questions later.

And I could also make the argument that just cause you aren't put in that situation doesn't mean that you wouldn't. The point was made a few posts ago that the stats show that gun owners don't do what I assume will happen. But if you show that stat reflective to the stat of how many of those people were put into that situation you'd see a clear issue. People don't do it, cause it rarely happens. But when it does, it doesn't mean that 100% of the people won't act.
