I do not know my neighbors that well, or their names, but I know what they look like. I am also talking about the neighbors who live multiple houses down. I know who belongs, and who doesn't.
Hell, the first day we moved in, we had multiple neighbors come knock on our doors and introduce themselves... then again, I do live in a town of 6,000.

Shit ive lived in towns from 150 to millions and i always know what my neighbors look like. I even know which ones i like and which one i dont. You have to pretty unobservant to not know what the people around you look like.

And I could also make the argument that just cause you aren't put in that situation doesn't mean that you wouldn't. The point was made a few posts ago that the stats show that gun owners don't do what I assume will happen. But if you show that stat reflective to the stat of how many of those people were put into that situation you'd see a clear issue. People don't do it, cause it rarely happens. But when it does, it doesn't mean that 100% of the people won't act.
