Re: Still think Sarah Palin is an idiot? Well, maybe not so much...
Sorry, but Obama pretty much showed how clueless he is with the Affordable Healthcare Act. He sold everyone on a health plan that was not a tax, wouldn't raise rates, allowed you to keep your doctor, would cover everyone in the US, and would lower overall medical costs. All of which are provably false. I have no doubt that while Obama was selling his signature piece of legislation to the country he believed what he was saying, but that just goes to the heart of how clueless he is. Nearly every Republican was yelling at the top of their lungs about how this would effect the country, and every liberal pundit, news anchor, teamster and Democrat harassed and ridiculed people like Palin for pointing that out.
Pelosi herself said, "We have to pass it [Obamacare], to see whats in it." Brav-fucking-o.
Now where are we? Virtually every issue Palin, and the GOP raised about Obamacare, has proven to be true. Even so to the point where Democrats who voted for it are now backtracking, and looking for a way out, praying they don't lose their seats for voting for it. Unions everywhere are asking for exemptions from Obamacare, and Obama himself just gave big business an extension on the mandate. Thanks Obama, all those one-percenters you so vehemently wanted to "pay their fair share" appreciate the help. The staffers on Capital Hill have been been given an exception from Obamacare while middle America, most notably small businesses, will have the bulk of a tax laid at their feet. So just as our feeble little economy is starting to finally show signs of a minuscule recovery, the Obamacare mandate is about to go into effect, raising rates, prices and endangering the 40 hour work week.
And you would have me believe he's simply a politician when 'idiot' is far more realistic?
People like Palin are far smarter than people give her credit for. The problem is, she's a parody of herself, and in a society that prizes image over substance, its no wonder she is a laughing stock. Obama, on the other hand, does a great job at communicating a genuine, heartfelt belief that his plan will work. He sold a majority of the country and won himself the White House. Good for him. But when it comes to substance, he falls woefully short. So in a way, those who voted for Obama got sold hook, line, and sinker. Obama is the latest shiney new EA game that you pre-ordered only to find out, once installed, wasn't worth the money. He's not unlike Jim Jones, Robert Tilton, David Koresh, or any charlatan you can think of. Its just that this time, he happens to be the President of the United States of America.
On second thought, maybe you're right Wicked. "Idiot", it would seem, might not communicate how stupid he really is.Last edited by Ranger10; 08-07-13 at 04:54 PM.
