Absolutely serious. I wouldn't expect you to see it though, even if i took the time and energy to point it out. The point is, the video is a poor example of what it is to be a conservative. Sure there are some stories in there that focus on some conservative philosophy but it seems to me the "performance" given was to get a rise out of an audience not convey a message. Like i said, there are better ways to get your message across than belittling the very people you wish to sway.

I dunno, I mean the humor was the humor. The thing I think is funny is that any liberal would think those jokes made in the speech were serious. If libs can't laugh at themselves then that speaks volumes too.

Either way the core message and intent was solid. Yours was a truly moderate response as I see it though, unlike some others.

Laz, Scott's post was almost exactly what I said. The only real difference is that he ended up watching the same thing, and I don't have the stomach to watch rhetoric from either side. Bottom line is that if what you are saying is intended almost purely for your target audience or constituents, don't be surprised when people that AREN'T from that group don't see the same thing you do.

Cause maybe you may have missed that thing about "How to win friends and influence people", but I'm pretty sure that constantly insulting them isn't a valid tactic

Or maybe it is the humor isn't funny? Plus the core message basically was: Liberals hate freedom, private property, and are jerks. Yeah, real solid.

I don't know, Morning, Drill Sergeants insult people all the time yet get people to see their viewpoint.
