Re: Reasonable Gun restrictions - need some help here...
You may not have explicitly said they did not expire, but using things like bank accounts and shit like that as your example is flawed for many reasons.
Now all that being said, I think the voter laws we have right now are stupid, and I could actually get behind a law requiring the showing of a photo ID....but there would obviously be conditions for me to support such a law. For one, it'd have to be free. The right to vote is absolute and is something you're born with (though you can lose it through your own stupidity), and this ID having a price tag essentially means you're charging a person to vote. Second, implement it immediately after an election. Right now, the only time voter ID laws are even brought up and bandied about is right before a goddamned election, and they want to change things for that election. Change it after an election, and that gives everybody plenty of time to hear about the new requirement and conform to it. For example, implement it directly after the mid-Presidential-term elections (I don't know the proper name lol), and if someone hasn't been able to conform to that new law in the roughly 2 years before the Presidential elections, then that's their fault and fuck-em.

I disagree on it being flawed. I think you guys are trying really hard to pull something out your ass on this but its a two sided issue so its all good. I also agree with you on one point and i know i said it a few times in the past. ID cards not dl's should be free of charge. If we're going to make it so damned hard to do with without id then that id should be free.
