America doesn't have a gun problem, it has a morals and ethics problem. I have many friends that own guns, and none of them have ever said they would have shot/killed someone if it weren't for those pesky gun/murder laws. Instead they made the personal choice that a few dollars and/or a little pride were not more valuable than another human being's life and/or well being. Treat the disease and the symptoms will go away. Treat the symptoms while leaving the disease untouched, and you will just get different, but similar, symptoms.

And the fact that they haven't been replaced but instead enhanced should tell you that nothing better has been made yet. When laser guns come out you will see the downfall of the gun. Until then it will continue to be advanced. Im gonna also point out you keep acting like killing someone is the only use for a gun and it isnt.

Yeah - I thought Xav's comment there quite misinformed. Technological advancements in all manner of tools is apparently well beyond him. It must be the commonly used term 'firearm' that is throwing him off. And I can sort of see his reasoning there.....in his defense fire was discovered a long damn time ago (waaaaaay before the advent of donkeys as a point of reference) and used by very primitive people. So I get it. It's still wrong though.
But in a nod (and an attempted salve for) his technological sensitivities there should be an upgrade process from primitive 'firearms' to personal laser and microwave based devices as those are far more contemporary.
Would that work for you Xav? Far less primitive if I may say.-Lazarus- liked this post

I agree that guns have been and will be a part of this country, what drives me nuts is the absoluteness of the gun supporters. They argue that no further restrictions should be placed on gun ownership - that is what the OP was an extreme example of IMO. Giving a legally blind person a permit to carry is insane.
