An East Naples teenager who thought he was doing a good deed ended up behind bars.
Collier County deputies say 19-year-old Andrew Anderson was an employee at a Goodwill store in East Naples -- he was arrested for giving out discounts.
On Thursday, he sat down exclusively with Rick Ritter to talk about his arrest and why he didn't think he was doing anything wrong.
"I'm not a bad person, what I did was with all good intentions," Anderson said.
Good intentions Anderson can't put a price tag on. For him, it was the best feeling in the world.
"It makes you feel amazing, makes you feel like that you can actually be the person to help them," Anderson said.
The 19-year-old was an employee at Goodwill Retail and Donation Center in East Naples -- giving out discounts to customers he thought were in need.

Goodwill has to pay employees, has an electric bill, a gas bill, a water bill, and buildings to pay for. Just because their merch comes free, doesn't mean they don't have overhead. They are a buisness. He is nothing short of a theif, as he was giving away something that didn't belong to him.....while on their clock no less.

Does Goodwill make a tidy profit? Yes. Is that wrong? No. I may think it's a little shady, but they aren't doing anything illegal. As for the kid, I agree with Dexie Poo and Nuckle-sama.

I'd also point out that a lot of people who shop at Goodwill don't shop there because they don't have money, they shop there since it's effectively a flea market where you can find hidden gems like at any marketplace. I have friends who most certainly are not poor who shop there for costume pieces for Halloween. They find great stuff there.

Really? They were compelled to have this kid arrested? I guess i should feel appreciative that i work for a FOR PROFIT company that gives me the the authority to discount whatever i see fit for the situation, or out right give product away to legitimate charities. Just today i gave away a faucet and some shower accessories to a local humanitarian project.
