Shutdown

I don't know who is winning the shutdown. But I know who is losing.

I just saw an article in USA Today that said both sides agreed to back pay for the furloughed employees. I call BS! I have to work for no pay and an IOU while the guys that got furloughed get unemployment and back pay for NOT working. That's completely unfair. I can't even take sick leave during the shutdown. And these guys get to sit at home and still get paid? Complete bullshit. I love working overseas but I have had it with public service. As soon as this assignment is done and I'm back in the USA I am going back to private sector work.

I may just be pissed off that I don't get to watch football this weekend thanks to the shutdown. Like I said, I know who's losing: me.

More enlightening than this article is the comments section where it is made clear that few people really understand how our government works. The idiocracy has taken place.

Did you really expect anything different from a Breitbart article? I think even JPost was less biased. I honestly try and give each of these articles a chance, but I just can't afford the salt needed.

The rare times I read comment sections on right-wing sites, I began to wonder how many actual believe what they say, and how many are just trolling (that is how ridiculous they can get).

Payday yesterday was a full paycheck for those of us that worked through the shutdown. This is no longer really a shutdown in my little world.
