What part of "closed" is eluding you? The parks are closed. Even simple parks need staff to clean them, change the trash cans, etc. The parks are closed, because the Republicans in Congress chose to shut them down.

I personally don't care how they chose to block off the public parks and monuments, I care that they were forced to by the Republicans' government shutdown.
