    Tipless restaurants?

Standard here in Germany. Not really surprising considering they get a normal wage.

Why do waiters and waitresses get paid less than minimum wage?

Have you ever waited tables? Oh wait, forgot who I was talking to. Most waitstaff in a decent restaurant make significantly more than minimum wage, and I would dare argue that waiting tables is one of the most lucrative "entry level" jobs out there.

That, or it is just another ploy by the man to keep Americans down. Take your pick.

Not quite sure why your post has that edge but whatever.

Are you saying that they make more than minimum wage before tips?

I just get tired of you sitting up in your glass house, eating from your silver spoon, and throwing stones at everyone.

No. Are you saying that they can only use their hourly pay, and not their tips, to pay their bills?

I worked as a cook in a high dollar country club about 13 years ago, and it was one of those country clubs where you had to spend a specific amount of money at the pro shop or the restaurant per month. The waitstaff there made 3.50$/hr and their tips weren't much to look at. The people only ate at the restaurant because they had to, and sadly, they tipped very poorly. I felt terrible for those employees and would always sneak them some misplaced orders and banquet leftovers..

I did start reading it, but am now on a conference call, so will finish later. I am not arguing one way or the other which model is better, but acting like waitstaff only make $2-3/hour TOTAL is pants on head retarded.
