Anyone voting for an incumbent from either party in the next two congressional election cycles is part of the problem. Unfortunately the American public has a bad case of ADD and won't clean house.

I'd doubt it, I think something like 80-90% of incumbents get reelected and have for quite awhile. I've heard (aka no real proof) that it supposedly comes down to name recognition and people voting for the guy they recognize (which is still somewhat better then the way most people vote on judges though).

I get the feeling that name recognition is going to hurt incumbents more than it helps, at least in the mid-term elections. While I think one side is marginally worse than the other atm, there's no denying that both parties are acting like spoiled children.

The main problem is that until we revamp the system, we'll just have new names and old results.

Ehh I don't know, it seems in politics name recognition goes as far as "That looks familiar." Unless the media keeps hammering certain politicians til the elections. Since let's be honest, how many things have people been outraged about, that they just forgot all about as soon as someone on TV wasn't either: Reporting it or telling them to be outraged?
