In MI and AL we had specific establishments we couldn't visit. When we bar hopped we weren't asking everyone(because believe it or not, other races are racist against whites) if they knew the next good part of town. We sure as fuck were doing that in MO, and IL. Racism was pretty bad and blatant where I lived in PA - probably due to all the mostly black and hispanic gang related shit going on. It's everywhere. It is by no means just worse in the south.

    edit: clarified
I hear you...but I never said racism is alive and well only in the south. I repeatedly said it´s alive and well in many places around the world.

It is but there are definitely different levels of racism. As I said, I've moved around quite a bit. To me, places like Concordia, Mo where anyone PCSing into Whiteman AFB is flat out told don't go there if you are black...that has had every non-white family run out of town in the last 25 years...where they have to bring in State Troopers to have a damn sports matchup with schools that happen to have non-white kids...that's way worse than being ignored on the street, or someone being a little rude or even being profiled because of color or any of the other more subtle forms of racism . I'm not saying those are acceptable in any way shape or form...but I've been so many places that are worse than that...in the north...and in the south...where if your skin isn't the right color, you need to avoid it or risk death.

As I said, most of the racism I've seen more north is of the more up front/abrasive kinda...most of what I saw in the south was the subtler kind. I'm aware that it's all relative. but at the same time, that big of a difference kinda of sticks with you.

Most people (>99%) under the age of 30 could give two shits about race. I think with regard to this issue they can't wait until the older generations die off and everyone shuts the fuck up about it.

About the only place I have seen race matter anymore is the prison system (lockdown is an interesting show)... And of course the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of the world. And again who gives a fuck about any of their opinions anyway?
