Charter schools aren't a democracy either smart guy.
So in all of your expert opinions with all the time you have spent as principals and on school boards it is good to know you would be able to make decisions on the dress code in 0.00 seconds. Too bad you are all making these decisions at other schools, and not here, then we would never have heard a story about a girl missing one day of school while the administration made a decision to break their own policy for her.

So, if you find all of this "armchair political/social quarterbacking" funny....then, I have to ask where the hell you were when this forum was created ...because it was like this from the very beginning, smart guy.
It doesn't matter if it was a charter school, or charm school. This is teaching kids, that if they do the right thing, they could be punished.

And as for laughing at my TPG analogy we have a black and white rule against hacking. We banned Jimbo for hacking. We all knew Jimbo was not a hacker. We kept Jimbo banned for months until he PBBan was reversed. Our judgment was better than a black and white rule, yet we still followed the black and white rule that is still in place to this day. Yes, sometimes black and white rules negatively impact good people, like in this case. What would have been interesting to see is if the student, or more realistically her parents, had gone to the administration and said, "I know we have this rule, but can we do this?" and let them make a decision. If they had said no, rules are rules, then sure, bitch away, but to me the lesson learned is we have to follow rules, even when they are shitty.
