Yea, he has only been nominated for an Emmy award 52 times, winning a total of 7 Emmys during his career for his show "Late Night with David Letterman" and "Late Show with David Letterman". Not funny at all. I forget that they practically give these awards away.

Exactly.

He was funny as Hell when he was on NBC. Long before the DVR, I had to stay up late to watch him, but it was always worth it. He was off the wall. He made a star out of Larry Bud Melman, and a long running bit out of throwing bowling balls off of the NBC roof.

He sucked on CBS. Unfunny, and difficult to watch. He turned into an angry, bitter old man. I don't think he liked Jay Leno kicking his ass for decades.

As for the Babe Ruth analogy.......Babe Ruth wasn't perpetually in second place.

Started doing late night-ish shows after Leno, Retires after Leno. Isn't a Stand up Comedian. Has a Gap in his teeth.
