lol dgod, we´re talking about this particular issue...kids at the borders...it´s one issue within the illegal immigration problem in the U.S. That´s all. The OP is talking about THIS particular issue.

And who does reducing it change anything that i said? Just because someone is a child doesn't mean they aren't capable of harm and gang members have already proven they aren't JUST kids.

I'll let the global policing die because odds are we're not going to come to an agreement and its far enough off the current discussion to leave out.

well...you´re talking about the grander, broader issue of Illegal Immigration. We´re talking about kids at the border.

Anyway, yea...the practical thing to do about this is send these kids back to wherever they´re coming from. The humanitarian thing to do would be to take them in. I think non profit organizations should set up shop at the border, build some housing, schools and some factories or something, put these people to work, all managed by these NPO´s or an international body and after that start the process of handing out the green cards (which should take years). So no cost for the U.S., reduce illegal immigration and be socially responsible.

How´s that sound? Just brainstorming here...

Or we change the immigration laws to make it feasible for people to get in the country the right way, and not pay for people doing it the wrong way other than the cost of a bus pass back to Mexico.

Yeaa, true Andy...that´s all true but lets be realistic about it...any country that´s prosperous will have flocks of immigrants wanting to get in...it happens in Europe, it happens in Asia and it happens in Latin America as well.

more people = more burden to the system; that´s just they way it is now.

Sure...but people will keep bunching up on the fence waiting for the U.S. to let them in or they´ll try to get in any way possible. The system will never work fast enough to allow people in daily.

really? kids? think of your kids, and what would you do.... go trough all the dangers of the trip here..... scared, hungry, cold, hot, most likely raped... and for what? to be treated like shit and not know where you are going to end up? but its still much better than where they are coming from?
