Making them legal means they can use this system for everything its worth because they EARNED it. Now i dont remember anyone saying anything about any specific race. I specifically said illegals. I dont care what color, country, or planet they're from. If your going to be here be here the right way. There is nothing racist in that thought process. How republican got brought up you're gonna have to break that down for me because last i knew wanting people to be here legally wasn't actually a party line.

Sure i remember the past. Want to try and explain how what happened over 200 years ago equals whats going on right now? Try to keep in mind its far bigger then just some people crossing a border. Infrastructure and economic growth are actually effected a great deal by it now and they were non existent then. So if your example is just about how it was then versus now then should we go across the board with that ridiculous thought? Then 10 year olds can get married to 50 year olds, women can give up their ability to cast votes, and we can go back to gunning down people that wronged us.

As for what i would do i would do what needed to be done so i never had to worry about my kids getting tossed back into what i worked so hard to get them away from. In other words i would make it legal so i never had to look over my shoulder and worry about them. No one is saying its an easy process. In fact many many times on this forum this topic has been discussed and i think i can safely say the only thing everyone has ever agreed on is the process needs to be fixed for the very reasons your giving an excuse for doing illegally.

Im all for making them legal but there needs to be a process. What we dont want is serial killers and rapists from other countries just getting grand fathered in just because its easier. If someone truly wants to be somewhere they would never let the process scare them away from it. Shit i would be more then happy to make that system free of charge because they will end up paying taxes and fees for other shit later on.

Andy, you live a better life, and have more things, than some kid in Compton. Should they be allowed to just walk into your house and use your TV/computer, eat your food, and if they get sick your insurance to pay for their medical expenses? Why have locks on doors because if somebody else needs something we should feel bad for them and just let them have it, right? I call BS. Yes, life sucks for these kids, but that doesn't mean we should all just willingly allow them to break laws so we can shoulder the burden.

I think it should definitely be easier to start on the path of citizenship, which includes being a safe haven for asylum seekers.

I'm kind of torn on the situation. On one hand, I want these children to have a good opportunity, but on the other hand, I'm already paying for a lot of opportunities, many of which are disregarded and/or wasted and/or abused.

Well that´s what I´m saying...illegal immigration should be stopped at the border...and it shouldn´t be, or at least minimally, a burden on taxpayers. I think there´s enough barren land there to build "halfway communities" with housing, schools and factories where the men and women can work and the kids would get education; managed and funded by NPO´s and international entities respectively. In the meantime, the person that goes into this system will begin the process of citizenship.

I don´t believe in letting people in just because they´re there. They should go through a lengthy process of cultural assimilation.
