The threat was real. It still could have been avoided had they had an actual IT professional in charge of the company IT, but it was real. The guy got the job through office politics not because he knew how to do the job. He stored passwords in plain text files. It was hilarious.

Re: JeSuisCharlie
Je suis Charlie aussi.
Aujourd'hui, hier, demain.
Toujours.
Novembre 2011, j'etais Charlie Hebdo.
Chacun - tout le monde - nous sommes Charlie Hebdo.
merci, Dex.
I don't disagree, but "these", "they", and "them" are where we sometimes run into trouble. Who they are in your mind might be different from who they are in someone else's.
In my mind, they're criminals. Pretty nasty ones for sure, but I'm not willing to elevate them further. They're not much different from gangsters, or gang bangers. That they might be motivated by religion rather than money or political power is less important to me.
I had watched the video, and you're right - it's very disturbing. But I think that what disturbed me most about it was that it was also familiar.
Cheers,
AetheLove

Re: JeSuisCharlie
Disgusting.
I´m no fan of vulgarizing or insulting things different cultures hold sacred around the world; to each his own, in my opinion. That being said, I understand the need for criticism and the importance of these kinds of satirical publications such as Hebdo.
I´m growing very weary of hearing this kind of news every other month: sub-human extremists slaughtering journalists or civil servants or civilians.
Extreme measures should be taken, and as some have said here, I think the vast majority of docile Muslims should start taking notice and cleaning house immediately.

It wasn't Sony's fault though, the major theaters chains are the cowards that pulled out of showing it. Since you know internet hackers=totally will do a "9/11 style attack." *rolls eyes*. Anyways, from what I saw of the weekend sales numbers after Sony put it up online and at small theaters, Sony was right to pull out once the major chains chickened out. The numbers were terrible considering the amount of free advertising the movie had gotten, with one report going so far as to predict they would have made 3x as much had the major chains actually shown the damn film.
(Granted, from the sounds of it, the biggest issue of the digital release was how cheap it was, considering you can watch it with numerous people where a theater you'd need to spend $50+ to watch it with a couple friends)
