Re: Full Body "Back-scatter" Scanners
One of these scanners would have prevented 9/11 and thus, the Iraq war - and likely most of the US involvement in Afghanistan.
Even the people on the 9/11 commission said the whole thing was botched.
Keep letting the media think for you.
What you are told is the truth.
Don't think for yourself....I have a very strict gun control policy: if there's a gun around, I want to be in control of it.

Re: Full Body "Back-scatter" Scanners
TSA is government. Major airports are, as far as I know, government-owned and carriers ask for slots (i.e. flights at a gate with a certain size, at certain times) from the government (FAA). To get to the carriers, citizens have to go through the government-owned and -regulated facilities. It's not exactly a black and white "private enterprise" deal. A private company could not go to a major airport and have people avoid security screening to go to their planes. Airlines are not installing these measures, it's the government installing these measures, just like if you had to get dick- or boob-scanned to get on a city bus.

Right?
I fly about every other week and would accept pretty much anything if it made me safer and increased my odds of returning to my family.
How often do you who object fly?
This reeks of manufactured outrage about your "right to privacy."

I fly once a month or more for work (not nearly enough for vacation).
In other news, here are the guys who are far more regulated and professional (supposedly) than the $10/hour guys they pay to look at pictures of your wife's boobs (and apparently print them out if they're good enough) in the security scanner.

(CNN) -- The Transportation Security Administration has launched an internal investigation into an air marshal field office in Florida where supervisors are alleged to have used a crew assignment board to ridicule and keep score on women, gays and minorities, sources told CNN.
The board, resembling the TV game show "Jeopardy," includes categories such as "pickle smokers," "our gang" and "creatures," which sources said were names used by managers for gay men, African-Americans and lesbians.Join the TPG Folding @ home team: http://www.teamplayergaming.com/pc-h...ding-team.html
