Yes sodium is essential to live but if you eat fast food for lunch very good chance you are at 2300mg.

I don't think they will make it illegal to add salt in restaurants. Just require restaurants to limit the amount they add personally.

steak, chicken, rice, eggs, seafood... yeah.

When you make soup, fresh pasta, anything baked, or a myriad of other things, it's hard to go without a BIT of salt. I don't use much at all, but what I do use is most necessary IMO.

If you cook at home and avoid canned foods and foods from packages you will be OK. What this is about is restaurants adding unreasonable amounts of salt to their menu items. If a law does not help limit the amount of sodium I do hope for options for those who need to keep an eye on their sodium intake cause I love going out to eat.

^ If you eat fast food every day for lunch, salt is the least of your worries.

I have ridiculously low blood pressure, so salt is actually pretty good for me.

I love salt. Lightly salt for the wife and then pour it on for me. Wendy's has that really fine salt oh I love it on fries.
I dont use salt on everything but a lot of dishes just taste better to me with salt. I went years eating no salt, father has high blood pressure. I wouldnt say I go overboard but I sure dont skimp out on the salt shaker. Also knowing when to add salt makes for good cooking.

Lame.. this is just like cigarette bans IMO.. granted smoking is worse for you, but its the point that there has to be a "law" about everything. Why can't we just destroy our bodies and be happy?? geez
