Re: FBI Probe of Border Patrol After Shooting of Mexican Boy
that seems a little derogatory...If you had half a brian in your skull, you would see that they were caught, tried to run away, 1 got caught, the rest tried to throw stones so the other could get away...kid got shot, sucks to be him...good job border patrol...end of story

A. Its his thread and you can't troll your own thread.
B. What is the law about bullets crossing the border? I know agents can't cross, but how about their bullets? I doubt there is a law about tossing "rocks" across the border.[quote author=...bigdog... link=topic=81507.msg1197022#msg1197022 date=1268327193]

Re: FBI Probe of Border Patrol After Shooting of Mexican Boy
Yeah, it was a lucky shot, but he was still shooting AT the people, and whenever you shoot AT people, death is a very good possibility. Protesters throw rocks at cops all the time during protests and riots all the time, but you don't see those cops opening fire on them. If you are going to keep lowering the bar on what constitutes the need for deadly force, I asked if insults were next. I wasn't comparing them. This looks like a classic case of excessive force.
Er, I don't think I have ever said anything about "securing the border." And you know what? People can make the wrong decisions, too. The kid make the wrong decision to throw rocks, and the agent made the wrong decision to shoot him. Why try and pretend that some people are perfect and others aren't? There is no need to defend the indefensible.

Re: FBI Probe of Border Patrol After Shooting of Mexican Boy
You always shot at your target. No surprise that he did. Shoting away from your target can get someone that actually is innocent killed. When cops show up at a riot they show up with riot gear and non lethal rounds. You have no what could have happened if one of those rocks would have put him on the ground. Maybe the plan was to cross the border by whatever means nessecary. He had no riot gear and no form of non lethal protection he could use at that range. So he did exactly what he should have done. Ergo he made the right decision and a punk ass kid is dead. Just maybe by putting him down he saved the life of some other innocent person. If hes willing to stone a cop he willing to do worse to someone that is unarmed.

Yeah someone can be killed by pennies,..... if they are thrown from skyscraper. Which only proves that you use the most extreme and absurd examples to support your detached from reality views. Especially while trying to justify someone shooting a kid for throwing stones from quite a distance.... Doesn't seem like cause enough to use deadly force to me.
