Winding up a historic trial over same-sex marriage in California, the lawyer for Proposition 8's sponsors told a federal judge Wednesday that allowing only men and women to wed promotes responsible sex and child-rearing, and ultimately ensures the future of humanity.

Charles Cooper maintained that society is entitled to reserve its approval of marriage for those who can naturally conceive children.

"The marital relationship is fundamental to the existence and survival of the race," Cooper said in closing arguments before a packed San Francisco courtroom. The reason the state regulates marriage, he said, is to steer "procreative sexual relationships" into a stable family environment so that children can be raised by their biological parents.

Well if my memory serves me well, there's a separation of church and state. So saying that gay marriage is wrong because the bible is wrong is bullshit, give me one good legal reason why homosexuals should not get married. And if you can't give me one, then shut the fuck up.

This is not directed at anyone hear on Team player Gaming, this is directed at the "officials" in congress who have their heads up their asses. I'm not gay, but I see nothing wrong in two people being happy together, regardless of their genders.

"All men are created equal." We are the same, black, white, Asian, male or female, homosexual, heterosexual, omni-sexual. Let them be married. I personally believe that it'll be a good thing, maybe not at first, but further down the line.

As for the title of the thread yes gay marraige equals unsafe sex on one side of the fence anyway. I just cant see looking at another guys ass and thinking damn i want in that. I'll stick with the female side even though they can be annoying as hell.
