oh wait though Nuck...that would be too fair to everyone..Remember, it's our patriotic duty to work our asses off so our families don't just benefit...but all the handout takers...

hmmm...this gives me an idea. Wouldn't we now be able to sue states for harboring fugitives; given that they're admittingly running from states that inact their right to deport illegals?

What would the tax bracket be for people making wages below the poverty level and below minimum wage?

100% of the illegals are running for the state borders.......yea no.

There might be 3 people that leave here and there but your problem is not going to go away with some baloney law. Plus from what I hear skeletor (your governor) is shaking in her prissy boots because the Feds are coming to overturn some laws.
Feds going to overturn their own law as well?

right on the nose. in canada you don't even pay taxes if you're in the lowest bracket....in fact, YOU get PAID!

    As it should be.

People trying to make a living for their families... accepting wages below what even an elementary school kid here would take... and you guys are worried about the government missing out on taking a few dollars away from them? Hell... it would likely cost more to track and audit these people than the government would ever make off of taxing them. Then again, bigger government is exactly what we need here, right?

Poverty level my ass. Most of the illegal laborers around here get $10 per hour with no skill and close to $15 per hour if they can do masonry, sheet rock, electrical etc etc. They do not get paid overtime but they put in 60 hour weeks. 60X15X52=$46,800. That is $3,900 per month cash. Then on top of that their kids get a free education, lunches and in many cases medical. Now who is living on the poverty level?

So lets play this game, I grabbed an old tax return. In 2000 I made $73,080.50. My federal with holding was $15,959, social security (which I will never see a penny of) was $4530.99, Medicare of $1059.70, state $3114.62. That gave me a bring home of $48,416.10. That year my federal refund was $1,600 and my state was $300. So my total net earnings in 2000 was $50,316.10 or just above an illegal brick mason making $15 per hour. On top of that I had to pay $80 per month for medical insurance.

The other article is stating how undocumented immigrants are not eligible to receive any "welfare" benefits and even legal immigrants are severely restricted in the benefits they can receive. Most are using a fake SS# to get the benefits in the first place. This isn't news.. So really it's saying, "they drain the system in ways that aren't really traceable."

It's actually quite common for illegals to pay income tax
