Pardon me, but I interpreted your comment as being along the same lines as your posts in recent memory about "Obama taking over the world". You've posted before in mocking tones referring to "republican pundits" and I interpreted this as more of the same.

Does the stock market always stay in the green or is it like a roller coaster?
Same applies to the national surplus/debt.
If you have some awesome plan that no other official has thought of let's hear it. Just think.... a plan to always have a surplus.

So it's cyclical. I gotcha. The national debt is cyclical like the stock market.
Ok. Good theory, let's check.
Stock Market Graph:
Cyclical periods of up and down with a general trend upward. Nice.
National Debt Graph:
No cycle there - all up, up, up!
Seems to me that in times of GDP decline, an equal decline in federal spending would prevent extended periods of inflation and unemployment and could keep taxes at a consistent level. Regardless of the President in office, sound economic policy is sound economic policy. W. Bush's utter fiscal failure is what turned so many conservative independents away from the Republican Party and to the Tea Party.

Jasons theory assumes that the govt spending is going to individuals that are going to put the money back into the economy. The problem is those damn greedy corporations that own everything and there not giving none of the money to poor people. Damn corporations actually turning a profit, we need to tax them more, come up with some new social programs...
We need to vote on how to spend more money! We havent even spent all that was allocated in the stimulus. Lets go for broke!
Oh and you cant look at stimulus signs as total loss. They stimulated the sign makers business.
I wonder what percentage of americans work directly for govt, from FBI to social workers to public school teachers. Then what percentage works for a private company that works for the govt. Total half of america? A quarter?

Those are some small print bars but from 1940-1970 it went up and down. Then around 1980 spending went through the roof.
Must have been the war on drugs and terror. I see such positive outcomes from both.......well maybe when looking at "terror" the Feds have been catching them here on U.S. soil, but overseas?

I'm surprised this hasn't made to the forum so I guess this would be a good thread to incorporate it. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/mone...bama-says.html
Solar companies get $1.85 billion in federal loan guarantees, Obama says
July 3, 2010 | 11:35 am
Two solar companies are starting the Independence Day weekend in a good mood after President Obama announced nearly $2 billion in conditional commitments in his weekly video address.
Obama said the move was an attempt at “accelerating the transition to a clean energy economy and doubling our use of renewable energy sources like wind and solar power – steps that have the potential to create whole new industries and hundreds of thousands of new jobs in America.”
The idea is to encourage other investors to cough up capital for the projects. Obama’s announcement comes the day after a new jobs report from the Labor Department suggested that the job market remains sluggish.Last edited by Arreo; 07-08-10 at 10:15 PM. Reason: violation of forum rules

Well, I guess if the company from Spain is doing better work then a loan is no biggie...loans get paid back in the long run. Not knowing the details, the Colorado company might have only requested 400M while the Spain company might have requested more. Who knows?
On it's face value, I dont see any huge issue with this.
I choose D. not enough information.
