'Iran nearing nuclear bombs' Russia warns
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/world/mid...t/10600100.stm
BBCNews
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev says Iran is "moving closer" to having the potential to create nuclear weapons.
It is one of the first times Moscow has publicly recognised that Iran might be moving towards a nuclear weapon.
Russia, which has strong economic and military ties with Iran, has traditionally been an ally of Tehran.
But it has recently adopted a tougher stance towards Tehran's nuclear drive, and backed the fourth round of UN sanctions that was imposed last month.

i don't see the point in punishing the whole iranian population when the majority of them clearly oppose the government. all it's doing is giving political power to the very people you're trying to dissuade.
head to head, chest to chest, which country is the very best? and in the land of rape and honey, you pray.

That's right USMC. The sanctions are putting a damper on their economy and causing some aggrevation, but when that regime is dedicated to sacrificing Iran for the destruction of Israel, then I think it is vital to take a more immediate sanction approach, as in a military strike, because Iran sees this as their last stand in terms of hurry and get these bombs built and deploy them. By that time economic sanctions have had zero effect, because Iran can hold out long enough to get their goal accomplished, so that leaves the immediate option standing tall on the Iranian Nuclear issue. Time is running short and the diplomatic process took too long and Iran stalled and bought time because the weak knees let them do it.
