They admitted to want to build on or near ground zero because it is ground zero? Or could it be attributed to the fact that the Muslim community in that area is outgrowing the current centers, and needed to expand? Well, the building was for sale at one point in time. What stopped them from making a better bid then? Especially if they could have known that a muslim real estate company was interested in making a purchase?

Besides that, that is the logical argument drawn from the "it's a slap in the face crowd". Because Muslims perpetrated 9/11, then building a mosque near GZ has to be a slap in the face, because mosques are where Muslims worship. In that case, how do I know that you aren't a muslim extremist? Should I take your word for it? Speculation my ass, if these guys were extremists, it would be known. ASMA has been around for 13 years, more than enough time to conclude as to whether they hold moderate or extremist views.

You keep saying that it is disrespectful that American Muslims(who have had nothing to do with AlQaeda) are trying to expand and build a community center, because their community is growing, in a building that suits their needs that is available and currently unused.

He's right no one would. Does anyone know why they wouldn't? Anyone want to throw a hand up and help the mayor figure this out? How about because it had nothing to do with anyone associated with any religion that would be in those buildings wether it be the average everyday person or the extremists. If its not intended to be a house of worship then why does it contain a mosque? Does it contain sections for every religion inside of its walls?

9-11 is the planned opening date.

Yes they admitted to wanting to build on or near ground zero. The guy leading the charge on it could be sticking a finger in the eyes of the infidels but im sure most backing it have their own reasons most of which would not include that.
