He's right no one would. Does anyone know why they wouldn't? Anyone want to throw a hand up and help the mayor figure this out? How about because it had nothing to do with anyone associated with any religion that would be in those buildings wether it be the average everyday person or the extremists. If its not intended to be a house of worship then why does it contain a mosque? Does it contain sections for every religion inside of its walls?

"Cordoba House will provide a place where individuals, regardless of their backgrounds, will find a center of learning, art and culture; and most importantly, a center guided by Islamic values in their truest form - compassion, generosity, and respect for all."

It sure sounds like a place of worship exclusive to muslims. I mean i went over their entire site i did not see anything relating to catholics, christians, baptists, take your pick.
    Facilities

Park51 will grow into a world-class community center, including the following facilities:
fitness facilities (swimming pool, gym, basketball court)
    a 500-seat auditorium
    a restaurant and culinary school
    cultural amenities including exhibitions
    education programs
    a library and art studios
    childcare services
a mosque, intended to be run separately from Park51 but open to and accessible to all members, visitors and our New York community
    dedicated meditation rooms
    http://www.park51.org/facilities.htm

    Sounds all inclusive to me.

How is that all inclusive? I see a mosque but nothing else. You should continue to read the site then you would have seen this.

Revive the historic Muslim tradition of education, engagement and service, becoming a resource for empowerment and advancement
Pursue the development of American Muslim identities, engaging New York’s many Muslim communities and promoting tolerance, dialogue and compassion for all

Dont get me wrong. None of that sounds bad but dont try to pass it off as all inclusive when it obviously isnt. It is centered around and caters to muslims. Thats the whole point of the building. Im not even against that. Its placement is the only part i am against well and the date if they some how manage to pull that one off.

I don't know that the YMCA houses a place of worship, I didn't see anything on it.

The YMCA was built to cater to Christians and promote Christian values, but people of other religions still go. This building is built by Muslims who want to promote Islam and it's teachings, it doesn't mean that a Christian can't go. It's a great way to learn about a culture that is different from your own, which is part of why it was built.

and yet there is a place to worship. Yes it will be run seperatly but still no compairson to a ymca. that was actually kind of a weak compairson to begin wth. Learn what? About islam/muslim? That couldnt be done from one of the other 40 mosques in the city? It couldn't be done in a building not at ground zero?

I guess if its prefectly fine to build a mosque at ground zero then there would be no objection by islams/muslims to us building a church in fallujah where we bombed a mosque. I mean they wouldn't get upset at that one bit would they.

    http://www.campgreenville.org/chapel.php

Some YMCA's do have a place of worship.

No this might not be exactly the same as a YMCA, but it's there to enlighten people and offer programs to the community. It will also provide jobs (even if a large portion of the people who work there are Muslim, it will still benefit the community). The other 40 mosques are probably not large enough to support the programs and facilities that this place is trying to build (although I haven't tried to research it at all). This area provided the space needed, so I don't see why it should be a problem. Again, that's where the muslim community is growing so it makes sense to build there.

So the YMCA comparison is weak, but bombing a mosque in fallujah and building a church on it's remains is equivalent to the 9/11 attacks, and a mosque being built in the same district?

Yes seeing as this building was part of the 9-11 attacks. It sustained damage from the attacks. But ok we build the church on the corner of the bombed mosque. Still think everyone is going to be ok with it? I'm pretty sure they would be pretty fucking pissed if we did that to them.
