BTW, where is the "bogus racism claim"? Nobody is hollering that these kids died because of racism...... But when someone asks why a majority of black can't/don't swim, what should it be chalked up to Rock? Because they are black which means (as you've stated about stereotypes that they wouldn't exist if they weren't mostly true) naturally they are dumb and lazy, and it is only these reasons and not generations of racism, that keeps them from swimming.

How about they cant/dont swim because...maybe they dont want to? Ever think of that? I know white people who ant/dont swim...does that mean they are black?

STOP LOOKING AT FUCKING RACE! You see color...i see people...

Ok, they don't want to learn to swim, yet they drown trying to do what now? Fly? Crawl? Or swim?

    That's not an answer.

Which one is it? Were they trying to 1)Fly 2)Crawl or 3) Swim?

    Rock and Kraker, read this:

    A few highlights:

So no one is blaming modern racism for why more minorities cannot swim as well as whites, but when you examine history, you can see why that is so in today's world. If their parents didn't swim, and their parents parents didn't swim, why will the children learn to swim? If the grandparents and great-grandparents weren't given the equal chances to swim, fewer are going to know how, and they are not going to pass down something they don't do. Then it becomes subconsciously defined as a "white activity," and it holds even less appeal.
Evolution doesn't exist, duh, so how can a culture do something that doesn't exist? God just made it all happen that way a few thousand years ago.

    Get your facts straight.

So they just don't want to swim? Wow. That is really your counterargument? What's next, poor people are poor because they want to be? You arguments are so shallow and asinine, it's hard to even take you serious. You are given a sociological explanation as to why minorities aren't as good of swimmers as whites, and your response is not to try and refute it, but rather just to say, "durrrrrr they just don't want to swim." We are talking about societies, not individuals.

Re: Why is race a factor?

So, black kids cant swim because they are black. Because they dont have inner city pools? So all black people are from the inner city? your "sociological" argument sounds a bit racist to me.

I dont care if you are brown, white, purple, green, blue, neon pink, or midnight wine....if you want to do something, you will learn to do it. To say that certain races are incapable of doing something because of...well, thier race, is borderline a biggoted hatred statement....

But what do i know....I have a mullet, goatee, and fuck my sister....
