The "fact" that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. Thanks to religion, we live in a world divided against itself, where everyone of us is an infidel to somebody, including you, no matter what you believe, even if it's nothing, you can be guaranteed that somebody, somewhere, hates your guts because of it. Welcome to planet earth, the center of the universe. Enjoy your stay.

Than I believe in Life and God. Sorry I do not conform to some system. Sounds like a political party to me. Sorry. Religion doesn't work that way. Only for those who wish to separate the others who do not conform. This is where I bail. Now we enter the realm of Christian BullShit. Capital B capital S. BYE

I am the same way with regard to appreciating the life i have. However I dont see how you "dont fear that this is all you have". That could be too personal of a question, and I think I already know the answer. And Reading your earlier posts i am very similar in my thought process to you. The whole "are we the present day version of people who thought earth quakes were the gods being mad at us, when really there is a sound scientific answer".
I have a theory (and I never took psychology so this could already exist), that everyone's actions in their life are motivated at the core or derived by how they respond to that question. What happens after you die?/Dealing with your own mortality
For me, thank god (lol) that I am young so I can just put the thought off. Right Now I am putting faith in the whole singularity stuff where I can just cyberize my brain in 50 years. (ya I know it likely wont happen, but its things like this that keep the thought out of my mind.)
