Well, if you listen to a lot of people in the Prop-8 thread, even a Democracy can't save you from religious laws like these. They need a Constitution and a strong Court to uphold constitutionally protected minority rights.

First, it is sick and disgusting to execute anyone.
Second, the way it is being carried out(read due process) is disgusting.
Third, the reason they want to execute him is crazy.

I may not support gltb, I feel that if both parties are consenting adults, it is their choice. I do not know of any cases in recent history where a person was charged and convicted for engaging in homosexual sex. Although those laws do exist here today. Not sure if it is still a law, but at one time any other sexual position besides 'missionary' was against the law.

For those that question the law, look closer to home, chances are your state has laws prohibiting certain sex acts.

I think we can all agree the punishment is insane.

In Texas a woman selling sex toys was charged because it is illegal to sell sex toys for their intended purpose. Hence why they all say "novelty item." Fortunately many of our laws like this are not strongly enforced, but they should be taken off the books.

People Please................ This is not the USA. Countries have their own laws and rules. Just because ours are different we must remember they probably think our rules are messed up also. Hell, I think we need to adopt some of thier rules. Murder= death Stealing=cutting off a hand and so on.

Yes, we must all be more understanding and receptive to the many cultures in the world. Still, it's 2010 and much of this type of punishment is way too barbaric.

I agree. I think our foreign policy loses credibility when we turn a blind eye toward this in Saudi Arabia, and others, while getting all worked up about it in Iran. We should be denouncing both countries, and any other countries that treat their people this way.
