It'd be interesting to see the crime rates/stats for similar crimes with differing punishments (USA vs. Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc....) before we decide to cut off extremities.

Iraq can't, never has either because the old government didn't stand for it while ruling the country with an iron fist. IMO, the officials of the new government could be up to no good but the government itself can't fund terrorism because the officials aren't on the same page with each other and no single person has enough power in Iraq to do so.

Please elaborate how that is related to a human rights issue? Wrong is wrong, regardless of who is doing it. That is like saying its okay if my neighbor, Joe, is a wife beater. But because he is a good neighbor and does not cause any trouble outside of his house I will not worry about it. But Bob down the street, he beats his wife and his dogs are always barking and disturbing the peace so I am calling the cops on him.

Gumby, if Iran had not gotten the International community involved because of security concerns, then we wouldn't be poking our noses in their business. So what they do to their people on a small scale is really no concern to any of us at any given level..... Start genocide and then you got some attention and it's just not the case.
