Your confused on the topic. The lives are under the control of someelse 100% of the time until they hit 18. Every adult that takes responcibility for them until that time is in control of their rights. Your arguement makes it seem like you think they have all the same freedoms adults do and that is not the case.

Uniforms aren't just limited to private schools anymore. Most of Dallas ISD's schools mandate uniforms. Khaki's and specific colors of polo shirts for the most part, but uniforms, none the less. The main justification was that there were arguments and fights breaking out over clothing being worn by students and by making them all wear the same stuff, there's no room for argument. Thankfully, the schools my kids attend don't have any lame rules like that.

i think this has more to do with "morale conservative america" than any real distraction.

When you get older and have kids of your own we'll see if you still feel that way. Parents are more interested in their kids going to school to learn verses winning a popularity contest.

I hated having to wear uniforms back in the day.....but it was kind of nice not having to decide what to wear to school......plus,not all uniforms look too bad. : )

how does clothing and piercings have anything to do with education? if there was a real correlation, every school would have banned them long ago.
