And trigger is saying that there isn't a "lack of competition". Gumby did mention that he went to multiple shops....... His problem is with their lack of a sense of urgency, which has nothing to do with competition or a lack thereof, but as a distinction between what he deems a societal norm and what they(Germans) do.....

No questions. Just an observation of that you use to live there and gumby does live there. Could have sworn it was you in another thread that decided to tell someone else that you know more about what was going on because you live there. Well the same applies. I tried to tell you not to go there in that thread.

Wow,
you guys will bicker over anything. The lack of urgency pissed me off from a customer service standpoint. That is all. Anyway, do you get to the Heidelberg or Stuttgart area much Trigger? If so, we should hit a biergarten sometime. I am currently in Heidelberg, but I should be in Stuttgart soon. They are closing the bases here and I am jumping ship before it sinks.Sleep, eat, conquer, meditate, repeat.

Well really, in most cases, companies thrive on great customer service because it gets them ahead of the competition. If there isn't much competition, then customer service doesn't need to be stellar. So customer service can indeed be linked to competition or lack thereof.
I've heard many small business make their pitch that they couldn't compete on some levels with other companies, but they could compete on the basis of customer service. If there was little competition, then that pitch wouldn't even be necessary.
That's what I was gathering from this.
