Thread: When gun owning goes right....

Just tired of the negative comments about handguns....here is a lovely story from Indianapolis this morning...

Indianapolis - A homeowner with a gun opened fire at an intruder on the south side Thursday. Police say the homeowner heard glass break inside a house on Nelson Avenue.
The homeowner got his handgun and fired several shots at the suspect who jumped out the window. Police followed footsteps in the snow and used a K9 unit to track down the suspect to a home a few blocks away.
Authorities say the suspect was wounded in the buttocks and leg. He's facing multiple charges.

Indeed, he should have waited until the man breaking in and commited to a harsher crime like the folks up here in CT. Wait until they have you kids gaged, raped, covered in gas, raped you wife, and beat you half to death.

because someone running away from your house is actually running towards your children to rape them.

yea, the guy had a second thought as soon as he entered the house, decided to leave, and then the dude woke up, saw him in his yard, and started shooting....


No, the dude turned around when he saw the gun, and subsequently got shot in the ass....

I guarantee that if they are in my house, I wouldn't care which way they are facing......I'm firing until I have to re-load. Then, maybe some more.

In HS, my house was robbed while I was home, sleeping (I worked nights). Knowing that they walked right by my bedroom (and the door was wide open) still gives me the chills 20+years later. The way I see it, THEY took the risk of coming into someone else's home....things could go well for them, or very very bad....that's the gamble THEY took. They entered at their own risk, and just their presence is enough of a threat for me to open fire. If it costs them their life.....not my problem, it's the chance they took.

for all i know thats exactly what happened. since there is no source or link i could also assume you made the whole thing up.

the way this sentence is worded it could be either he jumped out the window then got shot or got shot then jumped out the window

I'm obsessed with ethics, but I agree. Once someone has entered your home, all bets are off. A homeowner has a right to fire that gun until he is absolutely confident his home and family are safe. He is not a trained police officer; he doesn't have the training or state of mind to weigh the exact state of the intruder and the connecting ethical factors before opening fire.

A citizen's right to safety and personal sovereignty far outweigh the intruder's right to a thorough threat assessment before being deprived of life.

I can't believe we're debating this. A homeowner saved his home and family and the criminal is alive and brought to justice. You're upset over a butt wound?

No, they're upset by the application of the 2nd amendment.
