Funny how the areas with a higher pistol per capita experience lower major crime rates. While connection does not imply causation, its certainly a very interesting graphic.

Hooray Second Amendment!!!

Crime is more related to poverty and other social pressures, not registered guns. People who register guns tend to live in areas where there is already lower crime rates and tend to be more affluent. So I don't think the two are even related. As you said, correlation does not prove causation.

Why do you assume someone thats poor wont register a gun? Are you saying poor people are all criminals?

Duh, obviously. That's why I was speaking in generalities and using words like "tend to."

I love how you are trying to drag this off-topic by bringing up irrelevant things. But those where different circumstances. He specified that he was white and that he received no "handouts." People often accuse minorities of sitting around waiting for "government handouts," so I drew a parallel to that. I don't care if you thought it was ridiculous or not. I made no such reference like that which could be taken any other way. You, trying to be cute, thought you could force something and catch me with a "gotcha" moment. No i wasn't trying to be cute or force you into a corner. Simply trying to point out that general statements like both yours and mine are meant only to bring a responce and usually not a good one.

Yeah well lets be honest this one had no where to go in here. Just like every other gun thread that comes up it will fall on a hard line of guns kill people verses guns dont kill people people do. Then just like it already did it hit the wall on crimes are a disease of the poor and those not in poverty dont commit as many crimes. By all means i would love to have an actual conversation about it without thinking everyone including myself is completely wasting their time.
