Is this really necessary?
An eleven year boy was arrested, handcuffed and finger printed for drawing a picture depicting violence. Why does every questionable act have to involve police? Why do we have this authortarian mentality to every probem that exists?

Re: Is this really necessary?
The kid is obviously disturbed. If he isn't a threat now, it certainly won't be long until he is. Good thing they have eyes on him.
But.....
I would assume these "charges" stem from the zero-tolerance on guns policy. They said it was for "interfering" or whatever, but he did nothing but comply to the school administration.
This "zero tolerance" BS has got to go. Honor students getting suspended/expelled for having butter knives, and little kids getting in trouble for pointing chicken wings at each other is just pure nonsense. Zero Tolerance = Zero Thought.

I guess i can see the disturbance. But hes a child and should be treated as such, especially at such a young age. He could just not realize the dramatic implication of what hes drawn... reminds me when i learned the word "fuck", took a lil while before i found out why my parents kept getting so angry

If you hunted you could have a rifle/shotgun in your truck. It wasn't a big deal. We used to be able to leave for lunch and go to Wendy's, McDonald's, whatever. Then my Senior year came around and EVERYTHING changed. Couldn't leave for lunch and the locked the place down. You couldn't have anything in your vehicles. It was a bit ridiculous. Hell, that was 13 years ago.
My HS had more cows than students. Some would even drive the tractor in to school just because they had a field close by that they had to work on. We had one stop light in our town. My how things have changed. The town I live in now only has a gas station, no stop lights, and a post office the size of most peoples tool sheds. It is literally like 10x10.
At least I have internet. We only got that like 2 years ago. It is the lowest package of the company that serves here and they are they only ones with service here.Last edited by Partyball; 02-24-11 at 07:25 AM.
