If in fact they can not prove their citizenship, and it is proven they are not a citizen, then they would meet with ICE and most likely released back to the US (sadly) or deported back to their country.
And no, of course, I nor does anyone else, have proof that the law will not be used like in a cituation as that video depicts. Just as no one can prove that every single warrant still active is good, just like no one can prove that in every murder case, the suspect will go to jail.
People are falsly imprisoned all the time, we are only human.
The reason why I brought up that scenerio was it happend to me the other day. After running a plate on a car I saw, I intiated a traffic stop based on the registered owner of that car was suspended prior, after making contact ith the driver, he did not have any id except a mexico id, and spoke poor english. After running hi name, I found out he has never received a drivers license, and has been arrested before for operating never received. So I hooked him up on the same charge again.
My point being w this new law, I would be able to inquire his status, and tac on a new charge and get him expedited to ICE and start deportation. Rather than he being arrested again and again and again for operating never received, and waiting for the day he gets in an accident, and god forbid hurts or kills someone

To answer the question in the OP of would just having a Mexican ID be probable cause to ask about citizenship I say no. At that point they may be guilty of driving without a license, assuming you stopped them for some driving violation, and my best guess is if you stopped me, and I didn't have my license, you wouldn't then ask for my proof of citizenship. Now is that because I am white? I would bet $100 on it right now if we care to test the theory. No offense to cops, which usually means I am about to offend cops, but don't you have better shit to do than bust minor criminals? Who cares about the guys selling meth to teeanagers, let's get the roofers and dishwashers.
What can brown do for you? Looks like get you profiled and stereotyped.

And if you go read the US Supreme Court Case law of Terry V Ohio (i even linked it for you, how sweet am I), you will realize just how stupid you are for arguing with someone that does this for a living. 80 percent of my job, is based off this case law alone....
The issue here is not "not having a license" it is "having only a mexico ID" And by further investigation when I ran his name, I found out that he had never recieved a drivers license in any state.
And it's not "probable cause" Im asking about "reasonable suspicion"
You guys really need to understand the difference in those 2 statements before you come in this thread. I beg of you to get a foundation into the Legal burdens of proof, then come argue this thread with me. If you will not take the time to at LEAST do that, then there is no point in carrying on.
