LOL - I think that it has slightly more to do with the breakdown of the constituency in her district and the fact that she spends so much time in front of a camera that she is routinely able to come back home and make the claim(s) that she's "bringing home the bacon".
That gets votes no matter what state, no matter what socio-economic groups, no matter what. Voting =/= educated voting
Kinda similar to "jury of your peers"
