    Ask a Cop...

Got a question for a cop? Get pulled over? having troubles with your spouse? Somebody annoying you?

Although laws are different state to state, they are almost universal, and if not, I can figure out the answer you need. If there are any other law enforcment people here at TPG, feel free to jump in as well.

My first question comes from Mafioso.

I don't think its true but a friend of mine told me to not speed at all towards the end of the month because cops are out to give tickets to meet their monthly quotas.
    Mafioso,

The only law enforcement officers who have "quotas" as far as I know are state troopers, highway patrol, and specific, traffic only cops, ie Bike cops, Traffic Detail, etc.

Although, most cops do have a "stat" sheet. We keep this to basically show our superiors that we are actually doing our jobs. They do not ask us "Write tickets" just simply, pull cars over. There is ALWAYS someone out there breaking a traffic law, and they expect us to make contact with people. Not exactly to write them a ticket, but at least out there earning thier paycheck.

I hope this answers your question.

The same reason most people who work at the BMV, Walmart check out, Social Security Office, Health Department, and every other job where you have to deal with people are douchers

haha believe it or not, I was at the coffee place I go to on break from work, and at the same time were 3 local cops.. I over heard them talking about one guy they knew who got reprimanded (maybe suspended or fired too? I forget) for "Stat padding." Whole time I thought to myself "Yeah, stupid cheap-ass gamers that stat pad. I'd ban his ass too."

Why are cops so focused on traffic violations instead of "real" criminals that commit "real" crimes?

Best way to get them to work properly is to use the paperclip icon (gotta be in "Go Advanced" mode), and once uploaded "Insert Inline". For some reason the Photo icon method is not displaying them properly
