I dont even drink so why would i use flattened beer cans? Just so you know the permit has nothing to do with the resale of your neighbors home or to keep from being a blight on the city. Its so they know where to go for the inspection to make sure you are doing it according to the city/county standards. Many of which are not the same as the next city down the road.

With out permits and the inspections that come with them it could easily happen. just cause you chose not too doesn't mean putting an governing body in place for it is a bad idea, because SOME idiot out there will. Same thing goes for Fire and electrical codes. you can't just wire up your own house because of the fire hazard and the hazard to someone else who might buy the house in the future. Society gets to make sure the idiot doesn't endanger the rest of us.

Im not saying starting a fire in your yard is a good idea. However there are ways to do that correctly like using a pit with an ash screen to keep them from going airborne. I have seen people start an open flame in the middle of the yard and even came home several years ago to find my sister boyfriend at the time burning the christmas tree that we had in the middle of the back yard. Just after i put it out with an extinguisher we got a knock on the door fromm popo. I dont know who called it in and didn't care because it was a stupid thing to do. It would have taken next to no effort for him to take my chainsaw from the garage and cut it into pieces that fit in the firepit i have. Then it could have been done safely and no one would have cared.

Around here people have bonfires or burn their trash all the time and it is perfectly legal... outside of city limits. When folks live near others their right to not have an idiot burn down their house out weighs your right to roast marshmallows. Rural areas are where they should be doing this sort of thing but then those areas, typically, its legal just like it should be. Except in times of drought and high wind when the fire hazard to the entire county supersedes the right of the individual.

I actually dont disagree with the law on this one because you put others at risk because your to retarded to figure out on your own that the fire can spread.

That is just it, those laws are in place (usually) because the majority wants protected from the occasional idiot. Sometimes that infringes on the individual who may not be an idiot because society can't take that chance.

Jet ski, oil in the ocean, true but pretty dam sure it's not the leading cause to water pollution. Getting in peoples way, not really when there was no body swiming half a mile out.

IF every jetski stayed 1/2 mile out to sea they would never been restricted. That isn't what happened WAAAAYYY to may times. They go full speed 15 feet outside the swimming area being extremely loud and sending their wake into the swimming area and laughing about it. Is EVERY jet ski operator irresponsible nope but when enough ignore speed limits and common decency it becomes easier to cast a wide net over all of them than try and enforce on a few.

If it was a gated community, yea you seem to get away with banning the American flag. but if I don't want to buy loads of crap to throw in my lawn to keep it just as green as the Jones, then fuck the Jones.

Those gated communities come with conveniences, they suck and I personally hate them and will be very careful about buying a house anywhere with one. Guess what? you get to read them before you buy. Don't like it don't live there and be thankful that the douches that do all live together away from you.
