Re: Concealed Carry on Campus passes Texas Senate
I have never been, or seen anyone, searched while on the college campuses I have attended. Therefore, there is no way of telling if anyone was concealing a handgun already. The people who have been stopped, by their perspective, were in the right place at the wrong time. The others were able to rape, rob, or murder without resistance.

Quit acting like a child. This is the second thread you keep trying to bait people in with your arguement. You already know there are many laws as well as many people that break those laws. Getting caught does not mean the law stopped them. It means they got caught while breaking the law. Do i need to make that a bit easier for you to understand?

The easiest way is to just let the colleges make the policy for themselves (though my suspicion is that very few would be for allowing guns on there campus, maybe faculty, but not students). I assume in those cases if someone was caught carrying on campus they'd be forced to leave, or get arrested (similar in if a store tells you to leave and you don't) and subject to school's disciplinary rules *shrugs*
At least it is fairer, in my opinion, then telling schools they have to allow people to carry on campus if they don't want them to (or the reverse)

Then why should colleges be able to make decisions on peoples civil rights? What other rights people are guarrentied by the constitution should they be able to wipe out at their discression? I'm no gun advocate but why is people are up in arms protecting westboro church's freedom of speech and the right to bear arms gets put on the back burner for colleges?

There would be minimal noticeable change in allowing students to carry on campus with a permit. People that go through the process to not only acquire a weapon but also obtain the proper credentials to carry it are of a different breed in most cases. FYI, I do not have a link to back up my thoughts.

Re: Concealed Carry on Campus passes Texas Senate
I was issued a license to carry a concealed pistol at the age of 18 due to a relationship that my grandfather had with our counties sheriff. Between that age and now I have been in multiple bar room brawls, a full on fight at Talladega where my side was out numbered (dislocated both jaws from being kicked in the face), almost held up at an ATM machine, had a gun pointed in my face from a 69 impala sitting next to me at a red light and had a shady dude stick his whole body in my window asking me if I was concrete man. The only time I drew down on anyone was the ATM incident. The only time I showed that I had a weapon was the 69 impala story. The time I came the closest to taking another mans life was the concrete man story. I have yet to have to discharge my firearm at a human.
Oddly enough I always found minor league trouble in my younger years. You would think that I would have shot the world up.Last edited by Nuckle; 05-16-11 at 11:05 PM.
