Man i hope that isn't their best answer to this bs. Hes neck deep in water for crist sake. You dont need a wet suit to go club his ass and drag him back to shore. Personally if wants to kill himself ride the fuck out but dont come with bullshit excuses for why you sat there for an hour waiting for him to die.

My point is you dont need cold water survival skills for 4 guys walk out there and drag his ass back in when hes in neck deep water. I will give the guy props for determination. Its hard to freeze yourself to death on purpose when its not freezing outside. The part i find amusing is a civilian swam his ass out there to drag him back in. What kind of bullshit is that?

Should of just started chuming the water and let nature take its course.

Listen if the fire crew's are not water trained and they did go out there and they did some how happen to die they're families wouldnt get anything there is policy and code in everything. Trust as and Emt they're are certain rules and risks for everything.

Thats pretty weak. I dont give a damn what policy is right is right and wrong is wrong. You dont stand at the edge of the water and watch him freeze to death over the course of an hour. Somewhere in that time line someone should have stepped up to the plate. There is no excuse for this man to be dead with fire, police, emts, and onlookers there. About 75 people watched him freeze to death and that is a massive statement about society as a whole at this point in time.

54 degree water can cause hypotherima relatively quickly. Hypothermia Prevention: Survial in Cold Water | Minnesota Sea Grant

And how long would it take to get the man out of the water with all of those men there? The man, standing still, may have had a chance of hypothermia, but you can't honestly tell me that moving men can get that in a manner of minutes?

They had an hour to get at the very least a boat there. Im fairly certain they have those up there as well. Plus he didn't kick until 50 minutes. They had plenty of time to watch but not 10 minutes to stop it? Poor planning on their part and even poorer results for those that are paid to protect and serve. It was mighty nice of them to let a citizen go scoop his ass out of the water afterwards.
