I just feel bad for the children. I can not believe those guys took their kids in the van and tried to help the guy wounded. I have kids and maybe this is me being an asshole... but if i seen somebody shot and helicopters flying around doing the shooting all be damned if i would stop with my kids and try to help the poor bastard out... not even if it was a good friend. I would drop the kids off and then go back.
The camera men knew what they were doing when they were around enemy's of the U.S. with weapons.. They knew the spot they were in.. Its a battle field people death will occur.

From what I understand the helicopter was far away, it wasn't hovering directly over them or anything. Those helicopters have the ability to shoot from long distances. If you watch the video you will see theres a sound delay in which the shot is fired and explosion. They probably had no idea that they were being watched from above, if they did I'm sure the guy getting out of the van would have thrown his hands up in the air to try to signal the helicopter.

Re: Badass Apache Combat Footage!
My comments are about the video only.
We don't know why they stopped. We don't know what the treat was at that time. What if it was someone that was on the wanted list and his people are getting out of there before we can interrogate him.
War zones are a fucked up areas. Once we are there everyone is a threat. It doesn't take much to take down or damage a chopper. Now if the children were running around and they just started shooting that would be a different story.

What if your an insurgant on delivery duty that left your rpg and crate of ak-47's in the van while you try to reclaim other weapons and pull your buddies out so they can fight again? You cant answer the reality of the situation any more then i can and we have the luxury of time and the video. So how is the pilot and gunner suppose to know every detail?

Thats easier said then done, when people are bleeding out screaming and pleading with you to help because there dying. I don't think it would be that easy to just keep on driving. I have a son of my own who is 3 years old and I honestly think I would do the same thing, especially if I didn't know there was a helicopter watching over me. If someone is dying in front of you, how can you not help?
