Re: Badass Apache Combat Footage!
Didn't know that, when this was leaked there were no confirmation of insurgents but only confirmation of reporters and children. I'll take your word for it but since I first watched the video I haven't checked back on the story nor have I heard anything about it on the news. Still the shooting of the van is against the rules of engagement. Unarmed men trying to help the wounded.
This is the original video that was leaked and the one I watched. Watch the first two minutes. After that its all the same.

Ugh... I remember this, and it was disgusting. This is an example of us being the terrorists. Those people were murdered. They were not insurgents, and our government tried to cover it up.

In the video the soldiers and pilots are talking about take enemy fire. Doesn't that count for the Rules of Engagement? Please correct me if I'm wrong. Like I said I just watched this video for the first time today and only read up on the situation a little bit. I definitely agree that it is terrible that those innocent people were killed. Did the soldiers even know that there were children in the van? I watched a different version of the video that showed the aftermath and U.S. troops were literally running with the children in their arms to get medical help.

Yea I saw that video as well. Nobody doubts that the soldiers did this without knowing there were reporters and children down there. Obviously the solders were convinced that everyone there was an insurgent. Also there was an intense fire fight with insurgents just a few blocks away so the pilots assumed that this group was apart of the insurgency. You have to believe that if the soldiers knew that even a single reporter or child was down there they wouldn't have engaged even if some were confirmed insurgents. Truly a sad story and I'm sure its been used to promote recruitment for terrorist organizations. We need to get the hell out of there already, our invasion of the middle east had nothing to do with the attacks of 911, I don't understand why people continue to think that. Also I know that the engagement of the van was against the rules of engagement because I watched a news program in which several ex military officers were asked their opinion and they said that the engagement of the van should not have happened.
