BBC News - More residents flee as Arizona Wallow fire grows
A huge wildfire in the US state of Arizona that has forced thousands from their homes, continues to grow as the blaze rages for a 10th day.
The so-called Wallow fire is now the second-largest in the state's history.
Winds fuelling the flames drove the last hold-outs from Greer, a small town near the New Mexico boarder, and threatened 7,000 residents nearby.
At this point, official say, the wildfire is considered to be 0% contained...
What am I trying to get at (with the title)? The fact that we can't have nice things, like a great forest, because idiots keep burning it down every damn year. Usually we have at least a dozen human caused fires, despite constant warnings about the extreme fire conditions etc). Most don't grow into something this big, but that starts at the wrong time, as this one did, can turn into a massive blaze and endanger the life and property of thousands.
And that is my point, why is it we can't have forests without people being fucking morons and starting a fire every damn year?
And for the record, I do think we need to do some thinning of the forest, and it would help especially with lightning caused fires, but the lack can't be blamed for this fire when it NEVER should of happened if people weren't stupid.

Some people just don't get it. Fire season starting here now. Something like 40% of the fires here last year were human caused. Lets drive along a road and toss our cigarette butts in the dry area....Smart!
Here's to another summer of hundreds of fires here.

I used to like picking on environmentalists. One year "my god the forest is on fire" next year "as it turns out a forest needs a little fire every now and then" then next year "you bastards cut down a really old tree" then next year "ok so apparently harvesting some of old growth turns out to help a forests general health" ect ect. My favorite example was an environmentalist walks into a game wardens office and says "Why aren't you doing your job, I saw 5 deer walking here that are sick and dieing for some reason." Warden looks up and says "ya you said we couldn't shoot them anymore" environmentalist, "What's that got to do with it, I'm against the slaughter innocent animals!" Warden "Well everytime you pussies see a mountain lion you tell me to go save your kids, so we don't have mountain lions round here anymore who eat deer, now we can't shoot the deer, so no one is killing dear, the dear eat everything and then a third or so starve to death"
You go help the fucking deer.
O and I know better then to think Kraker has anything to do with those Marxist environmentalists, but it made me think of this schizophrenic irony. This machine kills fascists

Without a doubt. Im ok with fires that are accident but if it was on purpose then i might get upset. The forest will grow back and im sure people will go plant some trees to help it along after everything is said and done. It a cycle that isn't going to change so why get upset over it? Just deal with it and move on.
