The head of China's General Staff of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) has confirmed that China's first aircraft carrier is under construction.

The article also talks about how India has two under construction as well.

Thats old news. Well maybe not that he confirmed it but everyone knew about it years ago. It was suppose to launch in 2010. I guess something dont change regardless of where you are. Behind schedule and probably over budget.

DG is right - old news. What's more worrisome, IMO, is the ASBM that they're developing/developed.

Yeah the old Soviet Union wanted to get out of the Aircraft Carrier game or at least scale it back because it was mega vulnerable to nuc attack, and high speed ballistic missiles.

Once we mature directed energy weapons and/or rail guns there is going to be much less a threat.

We are working on scram jet ballistic missiles that move so incredibly fast that there will very little in the form of counter measure for them.
