"President Barack Obama is pressing his request that Iran return the U.S. surveillance drone captured by the country's armed forces."

Re: Why does this not surprise me?
What I am most suprised and amazed over in this incident is it is a multi-million dollar SPY DRONE! It may get shot down, or it may "Malfunction" and fall into enemy hands... did nobody ever think to put a self destruct device in it
I mean c'mon, with all that fancy schmancy software and hardware, surely sombody could have remembered to put an anti-theft device onboard.
Have none of the eggheads in charge ever watched Mission Impossible?

Re: Why does this not surprise me?
Whats he going to do deathgod? We cant declare war cause we were spying and got caught, we cant sneak in and take it back cause you know they got that thing surrounded. All we can do is ask and cajole and offer something to have it back...

Re: Why does this not surprise me?
Lol, typical deathgod and his facepalm-inducing posts. Asking for it back is about the only thing that can be done. We're not going to go to war with Iran over it and we have no way to legitimately get it back. Of course Iran won't give it back, but Obama had to say something about it, especially after they plastered it all over TV. What else could he have possibly done?!

Re: Why does this not surprise me?
Nah, it's his job to ask. That's basic diplomacy.
We don't admit it was purposefully in their sovereign airspace. They claim it as an act of war.
To not publicly press for its return is effectively an admission we were violating international law.
It does seem odd that it is (or seems) completely intact. Maybe it's a Trojan Horse? Maybe when we all wake up tomorrow Iran will have been conquered by Greece.
Cheers,

Re: Why does this not surprise me?
Because "we" the US don't...not officially, anyway. "We" the United Nations, do. We do sanctions according to not only International Law, but under the flag of an international consensus. Big difference.
This was "we" the US that got caught with our hand in the cookie jar...so we have some dancing to do. Barry didn't have a whole lot of options, so he tapped his feet a bit, and hopefully enjoyed the little bit of cookie.Stephen Haddad liked this post

Re: Why does this not surprise me?
You laze the building its in use a conficated weapon system and call it a day or look at it like you lost your toy. You sure as hell dont go ask someone you have had sanctions on for decades to give it back. We've almost been at war this country several times and you sure as hell dont let them keep the proof to gain international support.
Stephen this is not an act of war by espionage. Espionage involves gaining secret or confidential infromation without approval. If its outside and able to be photographed by an aircraft its fair game. Had you have said violating air space you would have had a point.
Cajun i couldnt agree more. I mean that shits only been used in how many movies now. lol
