Re: NBA 2011-2012
1. forgot about marc! he's the man and rounds out the top 5
2. i DIDN'T forget about tony parker. i should have specified the list is BIG MEN only. vesely on the wizards has a shot to be tough.
3. lmao you are a hornets fan? damn that's crazy. monty is better than byron scott and the interim white dude they had for sure
4. blake griffin might become the first player to die on an nba court when he tries to jump over someone like demarcus cousins who has eighty screws loose and cousins takes his legs out and griffin lands on his neck/head and snaps that shit. he's retarded but godamnit he's so good.vicissitudes [ben]...cs:go

04-01-12, 10:38 AM #92First, if you say Dirk isn't tough you aren't allowed to have an opinion on the NBA. He may not be the type to body slam someone like some of the others you mention, but he takes as much abuse as anyone in the league not named Blake Griffin.
Second, I will call your bluff on the Oden/KD thing. I told everyone KD would be the better pick. In fairness I also told everyone that LeBron was overhyped. I figured he would be good, but not one of the top 10 or so players of all times good.

Re: NBA 2011-2012
i'll give you dirk. although you are exaggerating how much abuse he takes...dwight howard easily takes more for starters.
second, who are you? you're a NOBODY. i'm talking about so-called experts and sportscenter and websites, etc. yea some random ass dude from texas like you who probably is a longhorns fan and jocked KD before he became a superstar would have had the homer opinion that he would be better than oden. scouts and GM's WHO KNOW INFINITELY MORE THAN YOU knew better. it's called HINDSIGHT. if oden never got hurt he could have been dwight howard.
btw you dont' know shit about me or how much i know b-ball. don't try to knock someone down so condescendingly next time "OHHH YOU FORGOT DIRK SO YOU CAN'T HAVE AN OPINION" gtfo
lebron wasn't overhyped. he was that good. lenny cooke was overhyped. to a certain degree so was oj mayo. but you don't even know who lenny cooke is, do you mr. condescending?vicissitudes [ben]...cs:go

Lemme know when Dwight gets his 2 front teeth knocked out and still finishes the game.
Go do some research, there were "experts" touting KD before the draft. Granted, more than half thought Oden was the pick because he was a 7 footer, but many saw another Sam Bowie.
In regards to Blake ab1 said he's not that great. If every player in the NBA were a free agent today, and the teams got to draft a roster, he would be a top 10 pick. I would say that's pretty great.
As for everything else you want to say about me, LAWL.

The NBA draft is a total crapshoot. It takes a longer time for players to develop into all-around players in the NBA than many other sports, so you usually draft on a combination of potential, work ethic, and existing skillset (usually in that order at the top of the draft). Anyone telling you "this guy will be a superstar" is talking bullshit with very few exceptions. The only recent one I can think of is LeBron. Lots of really good guys since, but none you could have pointed to before the draft and say "this guy will be a monster in the NBA." Everyone else just had the potential, LeBron had that and the necessary skill coming out of high school.

04-02-12, 02:51 PM #99I can agree with that, especially when talking about kids that have 0-1 year of college. I wish the NBA would change their draft rules, yet again. If it were up to me I would make it so that you could go straight from high school to the NBA, BUT if you do go to college you have to stay until you are three years remove from your high school graduation, like in the NFL. I think this would do 4 main things. 1. If there are guys like LeBron they don't miss out on a year of pay when they truly are ready for the pros. 2. It gives colleges more certainty because they know if they get a kid they will have him for 3 years, not 1. 3. It will encourage some kids that are good, but not quite ready for the NBA, to go to Europe. Pro experience will benefit them, and the team that eventually drafts them. 4. It protects the GMs and owners from themselves a little more. Nobody can be pleased with the likes of Kwame Brown or Leon Smith. As a GM or owner sometimes you take a flyer on a kid that should never have been there to begin with just because he might be the next Dwight, KG, Kobe, or LeBron. The additional 3 years will help them make more accurate decisions. Not perfect, but hopefully better.
