04-04-12, 08:37 AM #113Full disclosure: I am an admitted Mavs homer and huge Dirk fan. Now that we have that out of the way, Dirk is often perceived as soft because he is a big man with a beautiful jump shot. I will agree that he does not typically dish out a ton of abuse, but as I mentioned he receives more than his fair share, and still embarrasses the opponent.

Early in his career he avoided the post like it was the black plague. In the last few years he has been backing down smaller players. Tons of people, including the great Michael Jordan, shot fade away jump shots against smaller players. He also does it against bigger/stronger players. It is a move he has perfected through years of practice, why should he not do it just because the guy guarding him is 6' 8"?

Didn't get to watch it due to my cable box being broke. Harden has always been a better PG than Westbrook. They should really jus switch positions when on the court together, but Brooks is Not A Very Good Coach. Its gonna be interesting how that team will be constructed in a couple years after all their core players' rookie deals are over. They sure as hell not going into luxury tax hell in resigning all current players.
